Focus: The Identity Trust travelled to Dublin tonight to attend a talk given by Dr Lydia Foy and Michael Farrell, where they gave the background to the introduction of the present Gender Recognition Bill currently going through Oireachtas. Sara Philips (chairperson of TENI) outlined some of the deficiencies in the present Bill, and both Dr Lydia Foy and Michael Farrell outlined possible future action in the event of the current Bill not being amended sufficiently to meet the needs of  Irish Transgender individuals.

Focus: The Identity Trust tonight pledged to further their support to have proper Human Rights based Gender Recognition Legislation enacted across the entire island of Ireland that fully recognises Transgender and Intersex individuals rights to self determination around their own Gender Identity. It is only when such legislation is finally enacted that we will truly own our own identities.
